WHO WE ARE

About Project 24

Project24 NPC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting voter education, entrepreneurship development, and leadership development for young people in South Africa. We believe that informed and engaged citizens are essential for a healthy democracy, and we are committed to providing workshops and creating platforms to help educate South Africans about their rights and responsibilities as voters. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation of South African leaders.

A survey conducted by the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in 2019 found that only 16% of South Africans aged 18-24 voted in the 2019 national elections. This is significantly lower than the overall voter turnout of 65.99%. According to a study conducted by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in 2020, only 10% of South Africans aged 18-24 were engaged in entrepreneurial activity. This is significantly lower than the global average of 14%. Furthermore, the study revealed that South Africa had the lowest rate of entrepreneurial activity among all countries in sub-Saharan Africa. A study conducted by the South African Institute of Race Relations in 2020 found that only 27% of South Africans believed that young people have the necessary leadership skills to take the country forward. Furthermore, the study found that only 29% of South Africans believed that young people were adequately represented in leadership positions.
